Chris Van Der Kuyl and Michael Moore among key speakers at new scale-up event

One of Scotland’s leading entrepreneurs and a former UK Cabinet Minister are among the accomplished business figures who will address next month’s inaugural Invest2Scale gathering. The event was conceived to support scalable Scottish companies with high growth prospects by providing them with direct access to investors and VCs.

Chris van der Kuyl, co-founder and chairman of multiple award-winning games developer 4J Studios and the founding chairman of Entrepreneurial Scotland, heads up the list of formidable Invest2Scale speakers. Chris is also chairman of Puny Astronaut, Stormcloud Games, and Parsley Box. Along with fellow 4J Studios co-founder Paddy Burns, he launched Chroma Ventures, their company’s investment arm, in 2021.

Also addressing the Invest2Scale event is former Liberal Democrat MP Michael Moore, who served as Secretary of State for Scotland in the Coalition Government between 2010 and 2013. After leaving politics, Michael returned to the accountancy profession and became a Senior Adviser at PwC. He is now Director General of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, an organisation focused on making the UK one of the best places in the world to invest.

Invest2Scale takes place on 2 November at Edinburgh’s Dovecot Studios, and will involve a selected group of Scottish businesses which are ripe for high-level growth.

The event will feature networking sessions, industry discussions and other scale-up focused activities, bringing the companies together with an audience of senior figures from the UK and global investment community.

Invest2Scale was launched by a group of leading corporate players: law firm MBM Commercial, accountants Chiene + Tait, recruitment specialists Eden Scott, and LINC Scotland.

Other speakers and discussion panellists announced today include Nicola Anderson, CEO of FinTech Scotland; Kerry Sharp, Director of Entrepreneurship & Investment at Scottish Enterprise; Andrew Richards, CEO of Codeplay; Doug Lawson, CEO of MarktoMarket; Liz Fletcher, Director of Business Engagement and Operations at the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre; and Mike Reid, Founder & Senior Partner at Frog Capital.
